The Renewable Energy Association of Swaziland, established 10 years ago, has embarked on a project called the Renewable and Efficient Energy for Poverty Alleviation in Southern Africa (REEPASA), in order to focus on the barriers that prevent the growth of renewable energy technologies (RETs).
The organization will study the problems hindering the increase of RETs, with funding a primary reason. Currently, there are no financial tools made available to green technologies in the country, but there are a number of proposed studies that delve into the possibility of offering incentives for energy rationing.
The group is calling on aid and support from ministerial offices, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy and Ministry of Finance.
