ACWA Power signed an agreement with the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) in Egypt to build solar and wind projects in the West Nile area.
According to reports, the company is planning on spending upwards of $10 billion on projects in Egypt over the next five years with the goal of installing an estimated 10 GW of power generation capacity.
Currently ACWA is working on three plants in Egypt totaling 150 MW.
