The National Algae Association has launched a new algae production incubator, the first of its kind in the US, which will mitigate expenses and risks.
The new technology will be made available to industry leaders, colleges, and universities. Acreage, water, research services, lab space, benchmarking, and management services will be made available to assist in lowering start-up costs and risk of commercial scale-up issues. Clusters of algae producers will be building commercial-scale equipment, benchmark their systems, and will share research services.
The Algae Incubator Process consists of four parts: submission of the incubator preliminary review questionnaire with a complete business plan and financial projections; reviewing information to determine an appropriate match of acreage, water, and other services; forwarding data to a proposed host company; if negotiations are successful after forwarding the data to a proposed host, documentation is then signed and the algae-start-up incubator company is created.
