Uzbekistan’s State Joint-Stock Co. Uzbekenegro plans to construct a plant running on an alternative diesel fuel made from brown coal. A company spokesperson told Trend that the plant could be worth $641 million with a design capacity of 700,000 tons of brown coal.
The company is negotiating with a few firms to work on the project, including Clean Coal Technology South Africa (CCTSA). CCTSA piloted a clean coal project in Shaanxi, a Chinese coal-mining province, and has signed several MoUs since to strengthen its position worldwide. Other companies that are interested in Uzbekenegro’s plans include German firm Alphakat Avermann, Caterpillar, and Takraf.
