Angola has approved a renewable energy strategy to help diversify the country’s energy mix. According to local news source Angop, the Minister of Energy and Water Joao Baptista Borges said that based on projections, renewables could generate 18% of the country’s total energy generation by 2025.
The currently electrification rate for Angola stands at 33%, but it could reach 60% if this plan of action is implemented fully. The minister said that the Association of African Energy Companies could be help cooperate via professional training.
