Desertec suffered another blow as German engineering company pulled out of the Desertec Industrial Initiative (DII) to explore its own renewable energy endeavors.
Bilfinger is the latest to withdraw its support from the DII following Siemens, Bosche, and E.ON. Last July, the DII saw the Desertec Foundation also pull out from the initiative after failing to agree on management terms. Despite another German company’s failure to renew its contract, the DII still has numerous plans in the works and also newfound support from China.
