The World Reconstruction Conference will host a global innovation competition with the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction.
Open to individuals, teams, and organizations, the competition is looking for new ways of addressing challenges in disaster recovery and reconstruction. This could include different ways that renewable energy may be used, products and approaches, in order to help an area that faced serious droughts, flooding, etc.
Sectors of interest include, but are not limited to: housing, water and sanitation, education, health, energy, transportation, information, and communication technology (ICT), monitoring and evaluation, environment, governance, and institutional strengthening.
Three to five submissions will be selected by a panel of conference partners and will be invited to participate in the World Reconstruction Conference and Global Platform on May 11 in Geneva, Switzerland to present the projects.
