Middle East-based waste management company Averda is looking to expand into North Africa this year, according to the company’s Deputy CEO and COO Walid Shaar. The environmental services company specializes in the cleaning, collection, recovery, and disposal of waste covering Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
Averda is also looking into integrating hybrid or biofuel engines in order to curb its own engine emissions. Shaar told Alternative Energy Africa that although hybrid models or biofuel engines weren’t currently available on a commercial level, Averda hopes to become the first company with the facilities.
