Barclays’ RE Division Funds Wave Project

On the heels of announcing its renewable energy fund, UK financier Barclays has funded a pioneering wave energy scheme. The bank granted a £3.4-million loan, spanning over five years, to Aquamarine Power for a 2.4-MW Oyster wave power system at the European Marine Energy Center (EMEC).

This is the second deal completed this year by Barclays Corp. Renewable Energy unit, following the agreement for the 28.6 MW Drone Hill wind farm in Scotland.
