Barefoot Power is on the move to bring more renewable energy solutions and efficient lighting to five million people by 2013. The firm has raised $5.8 million from a group of investors and the European Union.
The group is also hoping to bring sustainable energy to 10 million people by 2015, and was recently announced winner of the Ashden Award, receiving about £20,000 for its work in providing affordable solar power solutions to remote rural communities in Africa.
