Bidding on Green Projects Opens in South Africa

South Africa opened its bid round for private companies to launch renewable energy projects to supply power to the national grid. The government said in a statement that it would begin analyzing proposals for wind, solar, small hydropower, and waste-to-energy projects.

 

Rumor also has the country looking into a Desertec-type project by calling on investors to acquire solar power from the Kalahari Desert.
