BOAD Allocates $45 Million for Guinea Bissau Solar

The West African Development Bank (BOAD) has allocated about $45 million to Guinea-Bissau to increase its electrical capacity. These funds will be
 used to set up a 20-MW solar PV power plant in the country.

 Two mini-PV plants with a capacity of 1 MW each will also be established in Gabu and Canchungo thanks in part to this financial envelope, according to
a statement released by the bank.

 "The implementation of the project will enable about 500,000 people to have access to electricity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 24,100 tons,

" Guinea Bissau’s Ministry of Energy stated.
