Cadillac Provoq Hydro Vehicle Concept Unveilled in SA

The Johannesburg International Motor Show, held October 30 – November 9, had General Motors SA unveiling the hydro-powered Cadillac Provoq vehicle concept.

The Provoq will use a fuel cell in the form of a lithium-ion battery offering a range of 500 km on a 6-kg tank of hydrogen.

The four-seater car is in its initial development phase and will not be available for distribution in the near future. “At the moment, it is only a concept vehicle, and nothing more,” said Beth Lowery, GM’s VP of environment, energy, and safety policy.

However, Lowery noted that the US has already approved a $7,500 tax credit to anyone buying a volt electric vehicle.
