20th World Petroleum Congress Issues Final Call for Complementary and Future Energy Papers
The 20th World Petroleum Congress (20WPC) held in Doha, Qatar, from 4-8 December 2011, has issued its Final Call to experts in the complimentary energy sector to submit their abstract papers for the Congress.
The international Congress Program Committee has prepared a wide-ranging Technical Program to recognize the scientific, technological and professional achievements of the oil and gas sector. There is a special focus on complimentary energy sources and future energy and there are places to be awarded to the best papers and posters.
20th WPC Forums with a focus on Complementary Energy Sources and Future Energy are:
- F16 Biofuels and biomass: feedstock options life cycle analysis
- F17 Wind and solar energy: short and long term perspectives
- F19 Geothermal and hydro options
- F20 Industry responses to climate change
- F21 A societal license to operate: HSE and community development
- F23 Social responsibility requirements for financing energy projects
The official closing date for the call for papers is March 31. Main authors are invited to submit their unpublished, original abstracts of about 300 words via the 20th WPC online system at https://www.wpcpubs.org
With a special focus on Alternative Energies, the submissions for quality papers and posters for the 20th World Petroleum Congress are a key area of development for the Technical Programme, as well as encouraging the youth and women to take part.
The 20th WPC will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). Opening in 2011, QNCC will boast an iconic design and cutting edge facilities in a green technology venue. It is the first facility of its kind being built to the gold certification of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED).
