According to reports out of Cameroon, the Ministry of Water and Energy (Minee) confirms that there are ongoing negotiations with Bouygues to build a transmission line between Edea-Logbessou-Bekoko passing through Douala. Another project concerns the strengthening and stabilization of the electricity network in Douala.
The project has seen a number of pre-construction studies completed, including detailed pre-project and environmental and social impact studies. The recruitment of a technical design office for project management assistance is underway, pending completion of the negotiations initiated to conclude the financing agreement. The amount remains to be determined.
If the negotiations are successful, Bouygues will build the transmission line to relieve the energy transformation stations’ overload situation, especially on the line between Edea-Logbessou-Bekoko.
