Carlyle Group to Raise Money for First International Energy Fund

Reports have surfaced that the Carlyle Group LP expects to raise $900 million by February for its first international energy fund with its overall target at $1.5 billion.

 

The fund manager has been making more moves into Africa, including in the continent’s energy industry. In April 2011, Carlyle announced its new African team so it is likely that the newest fund will see a chunk of money go to African energy ventures.
