China Continues African Strategy

The Forum on Chinese-African Cooperation (FOCAC) announced that it will provide almost twice the amount of aid money in 2012 that it did in 2011, about $20 billion, to help develop infrastructure and agriculture.

 

Chinese companies are not new to venture into the continent. And while some question the Asian superpower’s help as an ulterior motive to acquire more of the continent’s natural resources the fact is that the continent could see a surge in renewable energy infrastructure based upon China’s new monetary pledge.
