Chinese Solar Firm to Deliver 155 MW of PV to South Africa

Hanwha SolarOne, one of the top 10 PV manufacturers in the world, announced a 155-MW solar module supply agreement with Cobra, Gransolar, and Kensani. The technology will be used for South Africa’s Letsatsi and Lesedi projects, selected by the Department of Energy (DoE) in the first round of bids under its REIPPP.

 

The modules will generate enough energy for 268,000 families with the first delivery expected to be completed by June 2013.
