Chinese to Build 50 MW Solar PV Plant in Kenya

On the heels of its announcement to build the world’s first off-grid utility scale PV system in South Africa, JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. announced that it signed an agreement support a 50 MW solar PV project in Kenya.

 

The agreement with China Jiangxi Corp. for International Economic & Technical Co, Ltd. (CJIC) will have JinkoSolar providing technical support for the plant as well as serve as the preferred PV module supplier. The scheme will cover 81 hectares outside of Garissa, and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 64,190 tons each year.
