DNV GL was selected to advice on the construction of a 400-kV high voltage overhead transmission line and substations for Kenya’s Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project. The 300-MW wind farm will have its energy fed into the national grid at Suswa, 80 km outside of Nairobi, through the transmission lines to Lojyangalani.
Kenya Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd. (KETRACO) selected DNV GL to provide in-depth technical expertise and critical insights as well as developing the specification for the project, supervising construction work, and providing training on asset management.DNV GL will continue to support the project throughout the operational phase up to financial close.
