A total of EGP 57 million has been allocated by the Egyptian government to the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) for the2017/2018 fiscal year. The Public Treasury is contributing with EGP 52 million of the allocations, while the EAEA is self-funding its projects with EGP 5 million to develop radiation emergency programs and automatic mechanisms for the EAEA.
EAEA is developing the 22-MW capacity research reactor, and developing EAEA’s production laboratories as well as radiation units at the radiation technology center, according to Mousa Omran, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy’s First Undersecretary, quoted in an Amwal Al Ghad report.
