Egypt Cancels West Nile PV Project

The state-owned Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has reportedly cancelled a tender for the construction of the 200-MW West Nile Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant. The facility was to be grid-connected and help the country diversify its energy mix.

This decision is reportedly due to low demand in the local market at this time.

ACWA Power, Alcazar Energy, First Solar, Infinity Energy, Lekela Power, Masdar, Orascom Construction, Tebia were among the 13 companies set to participate in the tender.
