Egypt’s New Administrative Capital to Go Green

The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has signed an agreement with the Egypt-PV project in cooperation with the International Modernization Center and UNDP Egypt to design & install solar panels in the New Administrative Capital to benefit from renewable energy and increase the use of clean energy in Egypt, ultimately helping to meet sustainable development goals (SDGs).

ACUD has selected Benha Electronics and Suntech Electronics for the construction of several solar photovoltaic power plants in the new Administrative Capital (NAC) of Egypt. These plants will have a cumulative capacity of 18 MWp. These systems will be built on the rooftops of 65 public buildings, at a cost of about $9 million.
