Egyptian company Energy Allied Egypt has received a $238,000 grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) for a feasibility study to establish large-scale biodigester operations. The project, dubbed Everhart Biogesters, is anticipated to reach a total investment value of $100 million.
Energy Allied, with its partner the American University in Cairo (AUC), has been conducting research into the application of biodigestor technology in the country. The grant will allow the firm to continue its research to verify the technical specifications of the project and quantify the financial potential and environmental benefits that will result from its implementation.
Tamer Nassar, Vice President of Energy Allied, said: "Everhart Biodigesters exemplifies this philosophy and will, together with USTDA’s generous support, enable us to create further economic benefits both in Egypt and the US."
