The Egyptian Electric Regulatory Agency’s Board of Directors has awarded KarmSolar, through its special purpose vehicle Mercury, the license to start distributing electricity. This comes as the final step of the project’s development and marks the official inauguration of the Marsa Alam Solar Grid.
The electricity generated from the solar grid will be distributed in the area of North Marsa Alam in the geographical zones of Marsa Shagra, Wadi Sabarah, and Equinox.
The current zones are located from the 22nd km to the 30th km North of the city of Marsa Alam, with huge room for future expansion. These geographic zones are now being powered by solar PV stations and the national grid.
