French energy firm, Engie, is planning a significant investment in Egypt’s renewable energy sector. According to its regional director for North Africa, Amin Homan Lodi, the company will spend an estimated $490 million in setting up two power plants, one wind and one solar. Lodi told Al Mal News that the first $110 million plant is due to be completed in 2017, while a $380 million second plant is scheduled to be operational in 2018.
