EPC firm Sterling and Wilson plans to enter the renewable energy market in Egypt. The firm revealed it plans to construct 300 MW of solar PV projects in the North African country.
The company recently set up an office in Cairo which will help it facilitate its plans.
Capitalizing on the feed-in tariff program for renewable energy initiated by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the company has already been awarded two projects with a capacity total of 50 MW in Egypt. Sterling and Wilson will construct the plants at solar parks, which are being developed by the New and Renewable Energy Authority of Egypt at Ben Ban, Aswan, and Zafarana. The company plans to build at least one of the 50 MW plants by the end of next year.
