The EU is providing $16.3 million in funding for renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives in Tunisia. The $16.3 million is part of a $54.3 million funding package to support development of the private sector and professional training in the country.

The money will be allocated under Tunisia’s ‘Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance in Tunisia’ (SUNREF), which will provide access to a  $108.6 million credit line funded by European financiers, including the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
