EUROPEAN EDITION OF FUTURE ENERGY SUMMIT LAUNCHED
Turret Middle East, organisers of the Abu Dhabi World Future Energy Summit today announce the launch of the European Future Energy Forum which will be held in Bilbao, Spain from 9th to 11th June 2009. The event will be Europe’s largest exchange of knowledge focussing on the issues, demands and future energy solutions.
Following on from Turret Middle East’s huge success with the first ever World Future Energy Summit last January in Abu Dhabi, the organisers are now going global with a special European Forum that will examine and present policies on energy, investment, development and alternative and renewable infrastructures.
“While the Summit will always remain in Abu Dhabi, we are now extending the brand into Europe with a special Forum which we aim to make Europe’s largest ever exchange of knowledge on future energy solutions”, says Richard Hease, Chairman of Turret Middle East.
The Abu Dhabi World Future Energy Summit featured 220 exhibitors and attracted over 11,000 visitors from 77 countries, including royalty, heads of state, energy and environment ministers, top entrepreneurs and other high-ranking personalities.
The European Future Energy Forum will be a wholly interactive event comprising 6 high level keynote sessions, 30 expert workshops on specific themes, 500 interactive round table sessions, 200 exhibitors, intimate networking evening functions and guided tours of future energy sites.
Visitor attendance is expected to be in the region of 5000 visitors and The European Future Energy Forum will bring together top influential figures within the renewable energy industry including European government officials and ministers, NGOs and Environment Agencies, Venture Capitalists and investors, energy companies and professionals, architects, developers and civil engineers, transport providers and manufacturers, consultants and advisors, media broadcasters and journalists.
“Spain was chosen due to the incredible level of investment and growth in renewables. The significant industrial make up of the Basque economy points to the prime importance of the energy sector as the driving force behind investment and competitiveness. The Basque region has invested over 4 billion Euros in combined cycle power plants, cogeneration and a variety of renewable energy source with its aim to treble it electricity generation”, says Richard Hease
“We have received tremendous support from the Basque Government, the City Mayor and Tourism Bodies as well as the key players in renewable energy industry in Spain”, adds Hease.
“The Bilbao Exhibition Centre acted as the prime mover in the joint bid, bringing together efforts to ensure the best services and the highest standard of management, with the proximity and decision-making capabilities of the organisations involved being a major asset. As a result, The European Future Energy Forum will be organised as a joint venture between Turret Middle East Ltd and the Bilbao Exhibition Centre” said Hease.
Headline sponsor for the event is Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Government’s initiative to develop new energy solutions for the world.
