GE Oil & Gas in a partnership with Rockson Engineering Nigeria, has been awarded a $230 million contract by the government of Nigeria for the installation and commissioning of a dual fired (low pour fuel oil/gas) 150-200 MW power plant in Kaduna, Nigeria.
Under the terms of the contract GE will design, manufacture, supply, and test eight GE gas turbines in the 15-20 MW-range. Rockson will supply engineering, balance of plant, erection, commissioning, site works and a 132 KW sub-station.

The contract award is in line with GE’s ‘Country to Company’ agreement with the Federal Government of Nigeria which seeks to encourage active collaboration between the two parties in developing critical infrastructure that will support Nigeria in achieving its strategic 2020 Vision plan.
