Geothermal to Get Icelandic Boost in China

Iceland is making plans to help China develop its geothermal resources, according to Iceland’s President Olafur Grimsson. The Icelandic leader met with China’s Premier Wen Jiaboa and Vice President Xi to discuss further collaboration and skill transfer to help the Asian superpower’s geothermal sector.

 

China Petroleum and Chemical Corp. (Sinopec) is getting prepared to adopt geothermal as one of its major businesses. As China’s second biggest oil and gas producer, it signed a contract with Geysir Green Energy of Iceland for joint collaboration.
