Green Growth Africa Wins Two Global Awards

Green Growth Hub | #GreenGrowthAfrica won two prestigious awards: the 2022 Okayama Award for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Japan and the Pratt & Whitney E-STEM award in the United States.

The awards were bestowed based on global competition and evaluations by globally-reputed organisations, (the Okayama ESD Promotion Commission in Japan and the North American Association for Environmental Education in the United States), in recognition of Green Growth Hub | #GreenGrowthAfrica‘s high-impact Environmental Education Program that educates and empowers youth with hands-on and practice-oriented environmental education in African secondary schools. Thus far, Green Growth Hub | #GreenGrowthAfrica‘s Environmental Education Program has impacted more than 3,000 students, 44 teachers, and 156 families in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, and Uganda including outreaches to schools in United States of America and Italy. Green Growth Hub | #GreenGrowthAfrica emerged as the first organization in Nigeria and West Africa and the third in Africa to win the prestigious Okayama ESD Award. Green Growth Africa also emerged as the only African organization awarded the E-STEM Excellence Prize among the six (6) organizations selected in the Excellence prize category, and one of the two African organizations selected across the two categories of the overall award initiative.
