The laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the sustainable town of Andou-M’Batto was held this week located on the outskirts of Abidjan.
Victoire Immobilier, an Ivorian company, is undertaking the construction of the new green city under a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement.
The location of the city is near a river and covers around 6,000 hectares. The project is geared toward sustainability and authorities have vowed to not make the mistakes of some neighboring villages. Eco tourism is also on the agenda to take advantage of the natural beauty of the site.
Further, each resident will have a vested interest in the town by way of a definitive concession decree.
