GRS Continues O&M at Lesedi and Letsatsi for Next Five Years

International EPC contractor GRS will continue to carry out operation and oaintenance work at the Lesedi and Letsatsi photovoltaic power plants, located in South Africa. The new agreement, signed with the Lesedi and Letsatsi Power Project Companies, extends this responsibility for the next five years.

Located in the provinces of the Northern Cape and the Free State, respectively, both plants have been operating since 2014 at a high performance level and have reached an annual production high enough to provide energy to nearly 100,000 South African homes.

As its Country Manager in South Africa, Dylan Tudor-Jones, explains: “This new agreement is the result of the effort and hard work carried out by all those involved over the last few years. We are proud to take this opportunity to move forward and further build on our trusted reputation as an established and reputable EPC and O&M partner in the country”.

The situation that the country is currently facing, an energy crisis and a global pandemic, highlights the need for a strong and sustainable photovoltaic industry to contribute to the energy demand and safeguard our planet. In this respect, the energy production generated by the Lesedi and Letsatsi photovoltaic plants has avoided the emission of more than 100,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.

GRS has four photovoltaic projects in South Africa reaching nearly 250 MW. In addition, from its local office located in the City of Johannesburg, the company continues to work with clients and first class suppliers to ensure the delivery of projects to the highest of standards, according to specification, on time and within budget.
