CleanPower Generation GmbH and Danish fund manager Frontier Energy, a fund of the Danish fund manager Frontier Investment Management Company, have signed a financing agreement that will see three new solar PV projects erected in Guinea. The combined capacity of the installations is 82 MW. The project will support Guinea’s aim to produce 30% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.
These large-scale solar PV projects will be erected in the port city of Kamsar and the city of Boke, according to GET.invest, a EU program that supports investments in decentralized renewable energy projects. Power generated will also be supplied to the mining industry in Guinea along with to the cities of Kamsar and Boke, according to another report.
“We are now looking forward to finalizing all outstanding legal documents and permits with the Guinean government to allow us to implement the project with our international and local partners,” said Marcus Miller, CEO of CleanPower Generation.
