While many of our staff are enjoying this holiday, I want to take time to discuss our upcoming May/June issue because we would like your help.
Our regional focus, West Africa, will cover projects and updates in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Mali, and Nigeria. If you are from one of these countries and/or involved in projects – why don’t you drop us a line and tell us about it?
Other areas of focus will include hydropower and solar solutions. Something I personally like to see within the pages of Alternative Energy Africa are small-scale projects which are mainly applicable to off-grid areas. These models are most ideal for many people throughout the continent that do not have access to a reliable supply of electricity and communities that do not have the capital to spring for large-scale projects.
And a story we’re currently working on is reaching out to people who have tried to gain investors or support from organizations like the World Bank or the African Development Bank. We want to know your story. Did you receiving any financial aid? If so, how long did it take? Describe the overall process. We also want to know from consultancies and investors what you look for in order to say yes to a project.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, or general input – we’d love to hear from you. Happy (Julian Calendar) Easter to everyone!
Kind Regards,
LeAnne Graves, Editor
