Japan to Finance Largest PV Plant in Africa

An agreement signed by Morocco’s Energy Minister Amina Benkhadra and Japan’s ambassador to Morocco Haruko Hirose has Japan donating $7.4 million dollars to finance a solar energy project in the North African country.

The money will be applied to an electricity production plant based on 1 MW photovoltaic (PV) cells in Assa-Zag which will provide Morocco with its first PV plant and catapulting it to be the largest in Africa.
