Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm Officially Inaugurated

South Africa’s Eastern Cape officially inaugurated its 138-MW Jeffreys Bay wind farm after six years of construction and development. The facility includes 60 wind turbines from Siemens, covering 3,700 hectares. The scheme will supply the national utility, Eskom, and surrounding communities of up to 50 km with power.

Jeffrys Bay wind farm is operated by a consortium that includes Globeleq, Old Mutual, Thebe Investment Corp., Mainstream Renewable Power, Amandla Omoya Trust, Enzani Molene Holdings, and Usizo Engineering.
