Wesgro, the official Trade and Investment Promotion Agency for South Africa’s Western Cape, is looking to link an international manufacturing company with a local investor interested in gaining a foothold in the solar energy market in the Western Cape. As South Africa is continually facing an energy crisis, the country is looking for energy alternatives and the solar energy market is part of its nationwide drive on sustainable and renewable energy sources.
While the name of the international solar company was not disclosed, Wesgro said that it designs and manufactures solar solutions for homes and is looking to expand their operations to the Western Cape. Toward that end, the company is looking to enter into a joint venture partnership with a local company. Interested parties must be willing to invest R8 million in the company.
