JWF Industries is working on a potential agreement to construct hydroelectric turbines for Ghana as part of a deal with Aggreco Solutions International. The two firms co-signed a letter of understanding in connection with helping Ghana develop renewable energy resources.
The Pittsburgh Business Times reported that Aggreco signed MoUs with Ghana in October and the memorandum with JWF is a step toward a production agreement to build modular, hydrokinetic turbines. According to JWF’s President and CEO Bill Polacek, if the deal goes through it will not only create a clean energy source for Ghana, which is needed, it will also create jobs for Johnstown where JWF is located.
“Working with Aggreco to bring electricity to Ghana is a powerful prospect, and together we will do our best to help ensure greater well-being and success for people living here in Pennsylvania and halfway across the world,†Polacek said.
Jerome Ringo, Aggreco’s CEO, talking on how his company has been searching for the right partner to help it fulfill the job said JWF has been right in front of them the whole time. Ringo also mentioned Aggreco’s two main goals of the project, “Our shared goal is to help create new jobs in Pennsylvania and bring hydroelectricity to Ghana, where frequent power outages undermine economic development and diminish the quality of life.â€
