KarmSolar has announced the development of the Farafra Solar Grid in Egypt, after securing 83 million EGP (about $2.81 million USD) in finance from HSBC. This is the company’s second grid-solution after the Marsa Alam Solar Grid, covering 100% of the clients’ load.
The first phase of the Farafra microgrid project will include a photovoltaic unit with a capacity of 3.4 megawatts and diesel generators with a capacity of 3.7 megavolts in addition to a solar battery storage system with a capacity of 4 megawatts hour per 1 megawatt.
KarmSolar expect the project to be completed by the end of Q3 2023.
