The Kenya Electricity Generating Co. (KenGen) has announced it is looking for offers for the construction of a 10-MW wind farm after receiving a €20 million concessional loan from Spain to help finance the project. The Ngong II project is the second phase of the Belgian-financed project that is already producing 5.1 MW.
KenGen placed an ad in local newspaper Daily Nation that indicated Spanish suppliers were being sought, although there is no guarantee that a Spanish contractor will be chosen for the Ngong II wind power project.
