Following the death last week of former Kenyan president Daniel Arap Moi, thousands of Kenyans gathered at an open-air stadium on Tuesday for his state funeral. Moi was 95 when he passed away from an unspecified illness.
Moi was Kenya’s longest serving leader at 24 years, most of those controversial. He was forced out in 2002 under intense pressure.
