Kuwait Tests First Solar Plant

Kuwait’s first solar power plant is currently being tested thanks to kytron energy and its partner company, Abu Dhabi-based Environmena Power Systems. The plant has been constructed around the Kuwait Towers facing the Arabian Gulf, providing 117 kWh.

skytron outfitted Japan’s Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corp. (TMEIC) 250 kW solar inverters and developed a new data exchange interface for real-time data logging and monitoring system. The plant’s energy production and equipment status are permanently displayed and supervised using skytron energy’s PVGuard control room platform. This multi-site, multi-vendor SCADA software allows remote plant supervision and O&M management, and is available for the integration of any future renewable energy plants envisaged for the region. In addition, the power production and the environmental benefits of the new Kuwaiti plant are demonstrated on an eye-catching display unit in the lobby hall of the main tower.
