Lagos, Africa’s largest city at 20 million people strong, saw a two-week lock-down begin on Tuesday in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari made the announcement on Monday. The capital of Abuja is also included in the lock-down.
Citizens from one of the world’s poorest countries, are concerned over how they will make a living and feed their families. The government mandate did not include many details and it is unclear as to whether or not essential services will be available or if there are limitations on accessing any potential services.
