Builder Homesite, Inc. Expects to Offset 80% of Its Electric Costs by Using Solar Power

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Created in 2000 to develop world class technology solutions for the homebuilding industry, Austin-based Builder Homesite, Inc. (BHI) will soon be the site of the largest solar energy system in Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) territory. Revolve Solar, a commercial and residential solar contractor, partnered with BHI to deliver the designs and installation of the 194 kW solar power installation.

"We’re proud to be able to deliver this kind of sustainable solution for BHI," commented Tim Padden, CEO at Revolve. "There’s been tremendous excitement on BHI’s part, and we’re pleased to help them realize their goal of getting more than half of their electricity from solar power. Projects like this demonstrate how much solar prices have fallen over the past few years and how it can now compete effectively as an energy source. Specifically, because it can save business customers vasts amounts of money by investing in fixed price power."

Revolve Solar—recently ranked the 2nd fastest-growing business in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal—was responsible for the design, engineering, and interconnection of BHI’s 586 panels, including 55 kW worth of solar carports.
