Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture has installed a rooftop solar system using 560 solar modules from Luxor Solar out of Germany. The 140 kW PV solar modules from Luxor were installed by Egyptian firm Hammer Electric.
The system included an integrated battery storage. The power generated will charge the batteries in order to make sure that the lights can stay on even in the event of power cuts. Any additional electricity generated will be fed into the national grid.
The Ministry of Agriculture Building is now the home to Egypt’s largest rooftop system.
