A MoU was signed between One World Clean Energy Inc. and Pulexilite (Pty) Ltd. to construct and commission a $115-million integrated biorefinery in South Africa, capable of producing 10 MW of electricity derived from ethanol and biodiesel. The project is currently waiting on the completion of a feasibility study undertaken by an unnamed third party.
The plant will be constructed in the US and exported to South Africa beginning as early as 2012. The facility will employ up to 100 engineers and other workers in the US while creating up to 250 jobs in South Africa. One World Clean Energy CEO Bill Bivins said, “We look forward to making the partnership with Pulexilite one that benefits both of our companies and our countries.”
