Namibia’s Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economics, Natural Resources, and Public Administration announced that it will hold a two-day conference on the country’s renewable energy resources. Set to take place in the National Assembly chambers in Windhoek from April 14-15, the event will promote further development in the clean energy sector.
Committee chairperson Ben Amathila said that over 250 people would be in attendance including international and local experts.
Projects that will be discussed will include the Ruacana hydropower station and Tsumkwe solar hybrid project, among others. Topics will include Namibia’s current electricity generation, options available to help increase its electrification, the IPP framework and current status, and success stories.
