Renewable energy consultancy group Natural Power opened a new office near Newcastle to help provide services for offshore wind sites such as Blyth Demonstrator and Humber Gateway.
Natural Power is currently conducting ecology work on over 40 UK wind farm sites both onshore and offshore. The benthic and fish ecology services are provided for EIA baseline, construction, and post-consent monitoring requirements for clients, with expert advice being given in survey design and consultation strategy for stakeholders and regulators.
Dr. Jane Lancaster, Senior Ecologist at Natural Power commented: “As the renewable sector continues to grow, more opportunities and work become available in the field of ecological assessment. Newcastle is a center for research in marine ecology and technology, and is therefore the perfect place to grow the marine ecology business.”
